Public Discourse Forum

Moderating content is quite demanding. Good content moderation should enable free speech, protect from hate speech, harassment, and disinformation as well as bolster diversity of opinions. It requires clear rules, good tools, and well-trained teams. That, in turn, requires time, resources, and the ability to judge and act with nuance and tact.

The Public Discourse Foundation connects actors who face similar challenges: moderators, community teams, and decision-makers from media organizations, public authorities, companies, NGOs, and academia who design and moderate digital spaces for public discourse. At the center is the exchange of good practices, supported by scientific insights.

What we offer:

  • Workshops & trainings on professional content moderation and discourse design
  • Community of Practice – regular exchange between moderators, community teams, and researchers
  • Cooperation projects (A/B tests) with platforms to test effective moderation strategies
  • Research & knowledge transfer on effective methods and tools for respectful online communication
  • Conferences & exchange formats on current issues in digital discourse culture

Together, we strengthen freedom of expression, diversity, and quality in the digital space.
